Maia's "Sesame Street: 40 Years of Sunny Days" DVD

Cupid and I have been dying to get our hands on the "Sesame Street:  40 years of Sunny Days" DVD set since it was released by Sesame Workshop in November 2009.  I mean, to be able to relive those classic episodes and share the same experiences with our daughter was something we really looked forward to.  We are fully aware that you can easily view classic Sesame Street episodes online via their website and on YouTube.  But we still preferred the DVD set.  Besides, it's a collector's item in itself already!

So we searched at department stores, video stores, and the like.  Then we learned that the DVD set was never released here in the Philippines.  So we asked my mother-in-law and sister-in-law if they could order it for us.  It took them a while to find one.  They figured that going online would give them better chances.  Eventually they found a good deal over at Amazon.com, ordered and waited for it, and prepared to send it to Maia as a present last Christmas (Yay! We ended up not paying for it...hehehe!).   It finally arrived at our doorstep, along with other items from my mom-in-law's balikbayan box, last January.

It was really worth the wait!  Especially since Maia is into music, and already knows most of the show's main characters (Maria, and her favorite Gordon...hehehe) and the puppets (her fave Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Snuffy, Elmo, Grover, Ernie, Rosita, Zoe, Baby Bear, Telly, Biff and Sully).

Let me share with you some of the photos we took from that day the DVD arrived:

"TO:  Maia
FROM:  Lola Lily, Ninang May and Ate Pixie"
She, initially, didn't want us to tear up the gift-wrapping! :)
According to Muppet Wikia, the original release included a hardcover booklet.
The one we have is softcover.

The different looks on Maia's face while watching her new Sesame Street DVD were something that we will never forget.
She looked unsure while viewing the first few seasons (seeing old-style clips,
Big Bird's really small head and "Dodo-ish" voice, etc.).
Then finally settled as soon as she progressed to the later seasons. :D

You will surely find yourself singing, "Sunny days sweeping the clouds away!  On my way to where the air is sweet!  Can you tell me how to get...how to get to Sesame Street?"  *Sigh!*

Thank you very much Lola Lily, Ninang May, and Ate Pixie!  We truly appreciate the love and support you always shower us and Maia.  May God bless you even more!  We love you!!
