Dog Day Afternoon

We went to Bonifacio High Street located at the Bonifacio Global City one fine Sunday afternoon in April.  There, we met up for coffee at Figaro with our cousins, the Bondocs.

It was a perfect day for a stroll.  With just the right amount and balance of sun, clouds, and wind.  Immediately upon arriving there, and to Maia's delight, we saw dogs sprawling the complex's vast gardens and open spaces.  Some pet owners brought their one or two pets along for a stroll. While some, you can tell, were breeders and were there to showcase their toy dogs, retrievers, terriers, etc.  Perhaps, hoping to make a sale? :)

Anyway, getting to spend the afternoon outdoors and seeing dogs of different sizes, color, and shapes was enough to fill Maia's day with joy...and her mouth with a permanent smile all throughout (and up to the time we arrived home)!  :D

Below are some photos from that sunny-but-partly-cloudy day.  Do enjoy browsing them.  And, as always...thank you and Godspeed!

Maia's First Easter Egg Hunt

It has been three weeks after Easter but it's only now that I make a post about the fun we had that day.  Another late post, I know, but I figured that I HAVE been known to put up late posts every now and then anyway, so... why stop now, right?  For some things, I believe that they were right in saying, "Better late than never."  Especially for this one.

This is an important post, you see.  This past Easter was a special one for us because it was the FIRST TIME in Maia's almost-3-years of existence that she experienced going Easter Egg-hunting.

Before anything else, a little trivia (and don't feel sorry for me, okay?).  I'm turning 39 this November but it was only MY SECOND TIME to go Easter Egg-hunting, too!  My first hunt was in Oakland, CA waaaay back in 1993. :D

Anyway, hubby's cousin Klaudine tweeted me days before and asked if we would like for her to register Maia to the "Tropical Easter at the Grove" event that weekend.  We said "Yes", of course, and prepared Maia for the event.

Maia's Megamall Day!

The weekend that my husband came home from Yokohama, we decided to take Maia for a stroll in SM Megamall.  We've never taken her to Dave's Fun House but finally did so that day.  Thought that she would enjoy it there since it was like a "mini" community with a grocery store, hotel, police station, hospital, burger joint and beauty parlor; and she can pretend all she want.  Boy, were we right!

Maia loved it there!  Apparently, so did her Yaya Ann.  We had to lure her with Shakey's Mojos so she would come out.

From there, we took the elevator down to the mall's activity area so we could take a look at the christmas decor.  Maia's eyes grew with curiosity and amazement.  Then pointed and shouted out, "Castle!"

Mommy and Maia's Mommy Academy Day-Out

Normally, our Saturdays are spent just lazying around the house, watching DVDs and sleeping.  At most, we would go do our weekly grocery-shopping, or hear anticipated mass.  But the Saturday of October 23, 2010 was a little different.  I signed up for one of Mommy Academy's Pedia Talk Live series which was held at the Dusit Thani Manila.  The organizers encouraged participants to bring their children.  And so I brought Maia...and her yaya Ann (so she can watch over Maia, while I focus on and listen to the lecturers).  And yes, I also brought my husband Cupid (well...I needed him to drive us there...hehehe!).

The talk was set to start at 8 o'clock in the morning and so we decided to just stop for some "fast food" breakfast en route to the hotel venue.  Our restaurant of choice? Good old Jollibee (at its branch along C-5)!  I love their breakfast meals!  Just one of my simple pleasures (smile!).
